MOVING CHECKLIST:
* Get a change of address kit from the post office. Make sure magazines, catalogs and creditors have your new address.
BANK:* Transfer your bank accounts to new locations, including safe-deposit boxes. Cancel direct deposits or automatic payment arrangements. Carry enough cash or travelers checks to cover moving expenses.
INSURANCE:* Notify insurance company of new location for: Life, Health, Fire and Auto.
MEDICAL, DENTAL & PRESCRIPTION HISTORIES:* Ask your Doctor and Dentist for referrals, Obtain medical records, and transfer prescriptions.
MOVERS:* Get details from your mover on costs, insurance, packing, delivery and claims procedures. Take an inventory of all your possessions and record serial numbers on electronic equipment, in case you need to file a claim. Carry jewelery, medicine and documents yourself.
PETS:* Ask your Veterinarian for referrals, and obtain medical records. Have a plan for transporting pets.
SCHOOL:* Check with your children's schools on how to transfer records.
UTILITY COMPANIES:* Arrange for canceling utilities and services at the old house and starting them up at the new house. Don't forget refunds of any deposits made.
